Church services

Morning worship

Chancel window roundelOur Sunday morning worship starts at 10.30 am and normally lasts about an hour.

We celebrate Holy Communion once a month, usually on the second Sunday. Services which include communion tend to last a bit longer than an hour.

Refreshments are served after the service. If you are visiting or worshipping with us for the first time we hope you will stay for a drink and a chat, but there is no pressure to do so.

For level access to the church please use the side door.

Young Explorers

Young Explorers – children three years old and upwards – also meet at 10.30 am each Sunday. The children are usually in church for the first part of the service and then leave for their own activities. Visiting children are very welcome to join us, or to stay in church with their parents.

A crèche for children up to the age of three is available during Sunday morning services, staffed by a rota of experienced and DBS-checked helpers. If you are visiting us, please let the person who greets you know that you may want to use the crèche. Parents are welcome to remain in the crèche until their children have settled. Sound is relayed to the crèche room, so you can still listen to the service while you are with your child.

Informal evening worship

We hold a very informal evening service once a month. With a few exceptions this takes place on the 4th Sunday of the month at 6.30 pm but please check the calendar of events for details. Please use the side door to the church.

Parade services

We hold regular parade services when the Guide and Scout groups based at our church join us for 10.30 morning worship. These services are always all-age worship, designed to be suitable for children as well as adults. We have four parade services each year:

  • Harvest Festival – normally the first Sunday in October (7 October 2018). Everyone is invited to bring gifts of tinned food to be donated to the South London Mission.
  • Toy Service – normally the first Sunday in December (2 December 2018). You are invited to bring gifts of toys (brand new please) for children of prisoners' families via the Prison Advice and Care Trust. Gift vouchers would also be very welcome.
  • Mothering Sunday (Mothers Day) – this is always the 4th Sunday in Lent, which is three weeks before Easter Sunday (31 March 2019).
  • Summer parade service – normally the first Sunday in July (7 July 2019).
